Welcome to The Revitalized Therapist! We feel like we know you already!
Let us guess: You’re a psychotherapist who has built your practice from the ground up, putting in the work to acquire a consistent clientele. You are good at what you do. You are so good at what you do that you have a schedule packed minute-to-minute, leaving no time to quickly take a lunch break or check the kids’ after school schedules, much less run a social media account for your practice. Most nights your workload overflows and crosses the threshold of your own home.

"You've reached the point of burn out, even experiencing days where your practice is a burden, rather than the fulfilling life accomplishment you set out for it to be."
You should be feeling validated by the success of your private practice, but rather, you find yourself tired and overworked. You feel alone in a world piled high with case notes, new client intake, and the pressures of marketing your practice well. You reach the point of burn out, even experiencing days where your practice is a burden, rather than the fulfilling life accomplishment you set out for it to be. You convince yourself you must be doing something wrong. So you embark on a senseless and exhausting journey of “fixing yourself.” You enroll in business coaching and daily 4AM yoga classes. You schedule an extra appointment or two with your own therapist (surely, she must have the answers, right?). You enjoy one bubble bath every couple of months and call it “self-care.” You even consider decreasing your caseload, despite the fact that it would mean cutting down on relationships that are important to you.

"All of the therapy, coping skills, yoga, and bubble baths in the world will not give you the freedom to be both the clinical professional and healthy individual you deserve to be."
Here’s the truth of the matter: All of the therapy, coping skills, yoga, and bubble baths in the world will not give you the freedom to be both the clinical professional and healthy individual you deserve to be. You owe your clients very best and nothing less. On the flip side, you have worked hard to get where you are, and you deserve to delight in your accomplishments, not feel like you’re falling short. There comes a point where you have to say, ‘Enough is enough,’ and recognize that you need help. That’s where we come in.
The Revitalized Therapist was founded by Cristina Smugala, MA, LPC after she went through this very experience. As a licensed professional counselor with her own private practice, Restoring Clarity Counseling, Cristina similarly reached a point where she was trying to no avail to be the jack of all trades. She was overextended by the pressures of showing up well for her clients and their recovery process, completing the administrative work required to have a successful private practice, and simply being a human being with a grocery list and social life in what little spare time she had. Finally, she summoned the courage to admit she needed help.
"... much to her surprise, Cristina found herself feeling revitalized: by her practice, and by the lack of stress that had somehow become normalized prior to her virtual assistant's arrival."
Enter virtual assistant and (spoiler alert) eventual co-founder, Maggie Kell. Possessing a wide array of knowledge about running an effective private practice, setting marketing goals, and simplifying communication, Maggie was sweet relief for Cristina and her practice. Maggie quickly took tasks like rescheduling session cancellations, triaging new clients to see if they fit the practice’s niche criteria, and searching for psychiatrists that took a specific kind of insurance off of Cristina’s hands. Furthermore, she brought new skills to the table that Cristina didn’t even know her practice needed, such as blog content planning and using G-Suite more effectively. By the end of the first week alone, Maggie had even gone so far as to secure three new private pay clients! It seemed she was always two steps ahead of the game, and much to her surprise, Cristina consequently found herself feeling revitalized: by her practice, by her ability to indulge in self-care and actually gain something from it, and by the absence of stress that had somehow become normalized prior to Maggie’s arrival.
Needless to say, Maggie was Cristina’s saving grace. Knowing full well there were other therapists out there facing the same burn out, Cristina started to dream up a company with Maggie as co-owner, collaborator, and friend. And so began The Revitalized Therapist: a team of virtual assistants dedicated to helping psychotherapists get their lives back through a host of services, such as social media management, SEO-rich copy composition, email campaign design, and more.

"We want to see you thrive as both a skilled professional and healthy individual beyond the workplace."
We at The Revitalized Therapist want to give you your life back. We want to see you thrive as both a skilled professional and healthy individual beyond the workplace. We want you to be 100% present when working with your clients and to actually be able to focus on your yoga flow instead of thinking about the seemingly endless to-do list waiting on your iPhone. We want your bubble baths to actually be self-care and not you feigning it. We want you to be excited at the prospect of your caseload the next day rather than wondering how in the world you are going to manage it.
We want you to help you become the revitalized therapist you deserve to be, and we look forward to helping you accomplish that.
